Michael Cole vs. The Internet

Perfect placement on the Super Finger. :)

As if we needed another reason to hate Michael Cole, last night during the NXT Main Event he went off on a tirade against the "popularity" of rookie Daniel Bryan. While it was obviously kayfabed, as Cole suddenly sided with The Miz, the fact remains that Michael Cole spent a majority of the main event of a highly publicized debut of a new show putting down the fans that got the biggest star of the rookie crop there in the first place. Why on God's green earth would you sit there and intentionally chastise and belittle the one pocket of fans who are actually guaranteed to care about these rookies that you're trying to get over?

I wanted to hate Daniel Bryan. I, too, was sick and tired of the relentless "best in the world" claims by indy fans. I've barely ever seen him perform and I'm already sick of his stupid "I'm boring and bland on purpose" look, his generic red tights, and his kid-off-the-street hair. I wanted to hate him for continually smiling all throughout the show last night, even when he was supposed to be angry. But my intense disdain for Michael Cole and all his ridiculous catch phrases and his pretentious d-baggery trumps all of that. I'm now a Daniel Bryan fan. Thanks, Cole.
